Leona Louise Lewis was born on the 3rd of April 1985, is an actress as well as a singer and activist of British origin. Born and raised in the London Borough of Islington, she studied at her school at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology located in Croydon. Lewis achieved national recognition by winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006 which resulted in the PS1 million recording deal together with Syco Music. Her winner's single, a cover from Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" reached the top spot for 4 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke a world record by reaching 50,000 digital downloads within thirty minutes. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a contract for five albums in February 2007. The success continued for Lewis when she released her debut album Spirit (2007). The album is certified platinum within the UK it became the fourth best-selling album in the 2000s. Spirit, according to Official Charts Company is the greatest-selling debut album of a female artist. Its first single, "Bleeding Love", was a seven-week standout at number one in the UK and was the best-selling single of the year 2007. In the US It was the top-selling single in 2008 . Lewis was named Best New Artist by Billboard the following year. Her debut album was Echo in 2009 and also released "I I See You" The film's theme song. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide", a collaboration in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and also her first extended work, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) was her third studio album. Lewis drew inspiration from electronic music and dubstep. Lewis began recording music to her first Christmas album on the Glassheart Tour, which took to the stage in the mid-2013 timeframe. Christmas with Love was released later in the year. Its opening track, "One More Sleep" was a top three hit within the UK. With this chart entry, Lewis became the first British woman soloist to reach the top 5 spot with eight singles, surpassing Olivia Newton-John's record which was seven.
